About Us

The El Camino Real Chapter, Texas Master Naturalist, is one of many Texas Master Naturalist groups. It is a training and volunteer program, similar to yet different from the very successful Master Gardener groups.

Master Naturalist students learn all about the flora and fauna of Texas, the geology, the geography, and all about the water systems. After completing the training, certified master naturalists share their knowledge with others, and must complete yearly quotas of volunteer hours and advanced training.

The program is a combination of instruction and volunteerism. After completing the class, which brings in experts on nature topics, volunteers would then be able to better manage their own properties from a Wildlife and Natural Resource conservation perspective, and serve as outreach educators to their neighbors, friends, family and local community.

Sponsors include Texas Parks and Wildlife and the Texas AgriLife Extension.

We meet on the second Thursday of each month at All Saints Episcopal Church in Cameron, Texas. Program begins at 6 pm. All are welcome.
